Gouaille [marzo '26]

GOUAILLE (*1992, Ginebra) es una performer y artista sonora con discapacidad que trabaja con la voz, el cuerpo, el sonido y la escritura. En sus conciertos-performance, el público es conducido al mundo interior de su personaje. En este espacio liminal, caótico o mental, opera de manera dramática y humorística para abordar temas sensibles como la ansiedad, la discapacidad o la muerte. También colabora con distintos artistas para abrir espacios de comunicación y reflexión sobre imaginarios compartidos.

Su trabajo ha sido presentado, entre otros lugares, en: Kapitel Bollwerk Intransformation, Berna (2025); Malévoz Quartier Culturel, Monthey (2025); Bacio, Berna, CH (2024); Culterim Gallery, Berlín (2023); KBCB, Kunsthaus Biel Centre d’art Bienne, Biel/Bienne (2023); Dampfzentrale, Berna (2022); Collège Calvin, Ginebra (instalación permanente).

Durante su estancia en The Lab Program (marzo de 2026), laboratorio de arte y prácticas situadas en la Ciudad de México, Gouaille investigará los sonidos de distintos cuerpos de agua de la cuenca central, junto con las formas de comunicación sonora que emergen del entorno urbano. Su producción plantea la cuenca como un cuerpo discapacitado que, más allá de la noción de totalidad humana, permite activar y problematizar las dimensiones políticas de la discapacidad: un cuerpo fragmentado, obligado a adaptarse y atravesado por infraestructuras violentas que condicionan su capacidad de contener y sostener la vida metropolitana.

A partir de este proceso, la artista desarrollará un apéndice sonoro en el que las voces de estos territorios y el registro de diversas prácticas sonoras de la ciudad, se entrelazan en una pieza performativa, dando lugar a una narrativa situada, sensible y anclada en su experiencia encarnada de la discapacidad.

GOUAILLE (*1992, Geneva) is a disabled performer and sound artist working with voice, body, sound, and writing. In her concert-performances, the audience is guided into the inner world of her character. Within this liminal, chaotic, or mental space, she operates through dramatic and humorous approaches to address sensitive topics such as anxiety, disability, or death. She also collaborates with different artists to create space for communication and reflection on shared spaces and imaginaries.

During Gouaille’s stay at The Lab Program (March 2026), a laboratory for art and situated practices in Mexico City, the artist will investigate the sounds of different bodies of water within the central basin, alongside the forms of sonic communication that emerge from the urban environment. Gouaille’s  work frames the basin as a disabled body that, beyond the notion of human wholeness, activates and problematizes the political dimensions of disability: a fragmented body, forced to adapt and traversed by violent infrastructures that condition its capacity to contain and sustain metropolitan life.

From this process, the artist will develop a sonic appendix in which the voices of these territories and the recording of diverse urban sonic practices intertwine within a performative piece, giving rise to a situated and sensitive narrative grounded in her embodied experience of disability.
